As part of their commitment to giving back to the community, FNPF-owned IHG Fiji Hotels—InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel Suva, and Holiday Inn Suva — are joining global efforts to raise awareness for cancer this October with their Pinktober 2024 activations. Through a series of events and promotions, the three hotels will increase awareness and contribute directly to organisations making a tangible impact on cancer awareness in Fiji.

Throughout the month of October, the three hotels will showcase a variety of guest-facing and colleague-driven activities aimed at supporting cancer awareness initiatives. These activations will benefit local NGOs such as the Fiji Cancer Society, WOWS Kids Fiji, and Cure Kids Fiji, ensuring that all funds raised are donated to support those who need it most.

InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa

This October, guests of the award-winning resort can indulge in a special Pinktober Cocktail called ‘Radini,’ and Spa InterContinental will offer exclusive Pinktober-themed treatments, with 10% of the proceeds from these treatments donated to the Fiji Cancer Society. With each purchase, guests will also receive a pink ribbon valued at FJ$5 which will be donated to the Fiji Cancer Society. The resort’s newest venue, ‘Lai Lai,’ will also feature a pink dessert called ‘Scarlet,’ to help raise awareness for breast cancer.

Grand Pacific Hotel Suva

At 6pm on 4th October 2024, the front façade of the iconic Grand Pacific Hotel will be illuminated in pink, symbolizing hope and resilience for those affected by breast cancer. Guests can also indulge in special Pinktober cocktails and a Red Velvet Cupcake, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Fiji Cancer Society. Additionally on Sunday 27th October 2024, guests can enjoy a special Pinktober High Tea experience with 10% of the proceeds donated to the Fiji Cancer Society.

Our colleagues showed their support by participating in a 10k charity walk at Albert Park on Saturday 28th September 2024, which was organised by the Fiji Cancer Society. The event fostered a sense of community, with refreshments of juice, water, apples, and bananas for all participants donated by Grand Pacific Hotel.

Holiday Inn Suva

Holiday Inn Suva is putting its own twist on Pinktober by honouring Fijian women with the Marama Burger, available in both meat and vegan options. A selection of Pinktober-themed cakes and cupcakes will be available throughout the month, with a portion of the proceeds supporting cancer awareness efforts.

Cup of Kindness

As part of the hotel group’s ‘Cup of Kindness’ coffee sale initiative, guests at all three properties can make a contribution on Fridays 4th and 18th October 2024. All coffee sales across the three hotels on these days will be donated to WOWS Kids Fiji and Cure Kids Fiji, who do incredible work to provide support to kids who suffer from cancer and their families.

Additionally, fundraising activities include the sale of Pinktober pins at all three hotels with proceeds being donated to Fiji Cancer Society.

“Our annual Pinktober awareness and fundraising efforts reflect IHG’s commitment to making a positive impact in our local communities here in Fiji,” commented Lachlan Walker, Portfolio General Manager – IHG Hotels & Resorts, FNPF Owned Hotels. “By collaborating with the Fiji Cancer Society, WOWS Kids Fiji and Cure Kids Fiji, we continue to raise awareness and provide meaningful support to those affected by cancer.”

Resident guests and locals are invited to join us in supporting these meaningful efforts throughout October by participating in our events and enjoying the special food & beverage offerings. Every purchase will contribute to raising awareness and providing essential support to women and children across Fiji.
